St. Alexander Catholic Elementary School opened in September, 1958, welcoming 85 Fonthill students to the original four-room country school.
The population has grown along with the community it serves. Today, St. Alexander is a bustling, faith-filled school community with more than 550 students in kindergarten through Grade 8.
Named for St. Alexander, an early orthodox bishop who was martyred for this faith, St. Alexander Catholic Elementary School is the Home of the Huskies (and future Notre Dame Irish).
Before and after-school childcare is available at St. Alexander through the YMCA.
St. Alexander is part of the Notre Dame College School family of schools and the St. Alexander parish community.
